I swopped to a cream-based Clearsil with the same strength of benzoyl peroxide (the store was out of this type), and it made my skin drier AND didn’t work. Works for me, but is kind of like flipping a coin amidst Clear Skin or Not

Though Proactiv Solution works gorgeous well for me, I have never seen a product vary so drasti from one user to another. I started getting terrible acne in the 9th grade, and it had a major effect on my confidence. People would look with fixed eyes at my zits–and not into my eyes–whenever we were having a conversation, and my 10th grade history teacher even kept me back at the end of class quintessentially to commend a skin care product that she had ordered from Avon. If that were not embarrassing enough, my acne reached a peak for the duration of my senior year of high school–the primetime of each young woman’s life. Every inch of my cheeks was covered in bright red, pus-filled pimples. It was so terrible that a heap of humans looked disgusted to even stand near me, and I had to wear a TON of concealer for my senior photos–which only exacerbated the problem as soon as picture day was over. After my high school graduation, I started spending a lot of time out at the pool, and (despite what the experts say), the sun drasti bettered my skin. My face turned genuinely red one day when I forgot the sunblock, and the next day, all of the zits were gone. However, when the summer ended and I went to college in the fall, the zits came back. Another girl had moderate acne and experienced such severe burning and redness of the skin that she discontinued usage and even voluntary went through the seven levels of Hell (also known as Proactiv Service) to get a refund.

Overall, here are my basic recommendations for those taking into account using Proactiv:

1.) Since results vary so widely amidst each user, buy the smallest amount of the product that is available. That way, if it does not match your peculiar needs, you are not out an arm and a leg on something wholly useless

2.) Beware of the freebies/extras. The basic three step Proactiv system and the Daily Oil Control lotion work wonders (compared to the “before” situation), but the other items in the Proactiv line were genuinely gorgeous damaging. As a “free gift”, I received a tube of the Refining Mask. I applied it according to the directions, but approximately twenty minutes after I got rid of it, my face was covered in big red, itchy blotches. I without delay threw the tube in the garbage, and by the time I resumed using my regular scheme the next day, the spots were gone. So, if you get extras in the mail, proceed with caution.

4.) As I noted previously, Service is Hell (according to the people I recognise who have tried to cancel). If you want to cancel your account, you have to locate the client service number from the internetlocation or from your former bill. Proactiv does not concede easy online cancellations or (to my knowledge) mail-in requests to cancel. Then, when you call a representative and mention that you want to cancel your account, you are mysteriously put on hold for an indefinite amount of time–though they jump at the chance to talk to you if you are more than willing to order Proactiv. If you are not put on hold, the reps will talk in circles and try to convince you to order more products. One of my friends who with great success canceled her account commended setting up a web count on the Proactiv site, going to the aid feature, and then emailing a representative with the question “How do I cancel my account?” A rep contacted her by email a few days later, asked for her account number, and subsequently canceled the account. I commend following this procedure or proceed to receive the automatic shipments each month.
Overall, this product worked for me, but it will not work for everyone. It is kind of like spinning the Wheel of Fortune or flipping a coin…only this time, rather of head and tails, the sides are “Clear Skin” and “Not”.

Poor Service

I am 28 and had a few blemishes, so I decisive to undertake proactiv. Now my skin is a mess! It seemed like it would work, so I stuck with it for a month, and then I got another box in the mail of more product. Be wary, it is not evident that once you buy the basi kit you will mechanically be signed up to receive proactive and be charged continuously. Perhaps proactiv works for some, but since it was having reverse effects for me I called to return the further and added box of product that they sent me. Though I still had 2 weeks left to return proactiv for a refund, the client service representative said that they take 4-6 weeks to routine returns, and so it would not be sufficient time to get my return order refund! Not only do I now have to remunerate for shipping and handling which is approximated to be around $10 but in addition for a certificate of deliverance so I may prove I sent the product in on time. How frustrating. My last rant is that once the client service woman heard I wanted to return the product, she tried to get off the phone very fast, and I had to keep asking her not to hang up, since she was VERY short and not forward with regards to how to go in regards to handling the return (ie. address, filling out the return slip etc). I would commonly not write any review even if the product didn’t work for me, but the client service i received put me over the edge.

Horrible experience!

I’ve had acne for some years now, but the worst of it is on my back, which has left me with MANY black scars of varying sizes. Recently, I’ve grown tired of just letting it be and decisive to do something with regards to not only the acne, but the scarring itself. So I purchased this stuff a week ago and tried it out.

First off, the acne cream smells horrible. I found it rather unbearable, not to mention it burns as well, while the wash is an abrasive soap with a milder medicine-like smell. But no pain no gain, right? Wrong. After a couple days using this stuff, I broke out in even more acne. There were in a literal sense over 20 red spots scattered all over my back! This has NEVER happened before.

I continued to use it, though, just in case the acne was in some manner being caused by something else. But now I see acne forming on my chest as well.

I will not be using this product again.

I purchased this for my husband to use on his back. But he never used it saying it was too much work to do the mask then the scrub. Anways I started using it for the pimples on my face and it is great!! The mask feels so cool on your skin and by the next day the pimples were less evident and by 3 days they were gone!!!!!!!!

Helped my sensible skin!

I purchased this product to deal with a good deal of mild acne around my chin. I likewise get the occasional painful cyst-type acne (I am in my mid 20′s and this is a recent development).I have pretty sensible dry/normal combo skin and other treatments I have tried have just made me peely and flaky.

I have been using the treatment for a month. At firstborn the treatment was a little drying so I went to using it each other night and now I am applying it each night following it up with moisturizer. My skin is DEFINITELY clearer. The product is easy to apply, soaks into your skin pretty quickly and is unscented (a big plus!) It is still a little irritating everyonce in awhile but I have not had any absurd peeling/redness. I’m still not sure how it will be under my makeup wearing it all day.

Overall, I am impressed with this product, it has helped out my skin!

Saved my Skin!

I am 40 years old and have been battling acne since I was 10. It has been a long, embarassing battle, and I have tried each product out there, prescription and over the counter. I was taking into account Accutane until on a whim I tried the Acne.org Treatment that came as a sample when I ordered the astounding Acne.org cleanser.
